Trying to keep up with the latest AI news can be overwhelming, but sifting through the noise there are some great tools we can harness in vfx. I've spent some time with Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI, Midjourney, and Photoshop's Generative AI, trying find ways to use AI to my advantage. Here are some projects I've played with using it.

When Charlex was approached for a print job involving AI Generated imagery in late 2023, we were very excited for the chance to use Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and our talented 3D team led by James Fisher to help them with their campaign. With our ECD Ryan Dunn leading the way with his Midjourney work, we delivered 5 images used in magazine ads.
The video on the left is just a compilation of MANY stable diffusion renders I made in order to achieve the final imagery they printed. We selected hero golf club heads from multiple shots which I then combined and retouched to get us the final output. Definitely not a one-click solution, but with some elbow grease we were able to achieve their needs.
